I am looking forward to a brand new experience. I have been on 39 cruises but this time I will be hosting six blind folks from the Braille Institute, and three of them will be bringing their service dogs! We will be sailing on a weekend cruise with Carnival Cruise Lines out of Long Beach in November. These pups are so sweet, and we will be having “meet the working dog” sessions so other cruisers can say hello.

A NEW KIND OF CRUISIN’!
I will be hosting a group of eleven cruisers on the November 5, 2010 weekend cruise to Baja Mexico from Long Beach aboard the Carnival Paradise. A difference this time is that six of them are blind, and three of those folks will be bringing their precious service dogs! Why don’t you join us and meet Danton, Skip, and Miss Wanda!? The fare is still $349.00 per person/double. Less, if you put 3 or 4 people in the cabin. Y’all come!

Las Vegas Still Rocks!
Just returned from 4 days in Vegas celebrating a couple of birthdays. While there are certainly signs of a downturn in the economy (unfinished building projects), there are still just as many choices of entertainment and hotels appealing to every taste and budget. A highlight for us was seeing the fabulous production of Phantom of the Opera playing at the Venetian. Check it out for yourself, soon!

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!
With all the recent uproar about border tension and such, we tend to forget the warm, wonderful sights and sounds of our neighbor to the south. I still believe the best way to experience Mexico is on a cruise.
Imagine listening to the mariachis on a sunny afternoon in a friendly Mexican cantina, then listening to the cool sounds of the dance band that evening as you glide through the ocean on your luxurious ship.
There are so many great deals out there. Let’s plan a cruise soon, OK?

VOLCANIC TROUBLES
The recent travel delays caused by the Icelandic vaolcano spewing ash over northern Europe made me remember 9/11 all over again. Travel agents were extremely helpful to a lot of stranded travelers during those first few days when all flights were grounded. Clients called us when they couldn’t get through to the airlines. I remember renting a for one client who was grounded in western Canada so he could drive home to Florida! Sometimes people called us just to be reassured that someone was still on the job. The terrible situation brought out the best in many folks, and I’d like to think that we helped!

NEW FRIENDS VISITING
We are expecting a brand new friend to visit us this week. We are really looking forward to showing him around our beautiful San Diego. He is coming from Minnesota, where the winter has been brutal this year, so he should definitely appreciate our sunny, warm weather! Now is a great time to visit your friends and family. Let’s talk!

BIRTHDAY FUN
Just had another birthday. A wonderful day with my guys, filled with flowers, champagne, and the wonders of a gorgeous sunny day on San Diego Bay. If you never travel anywhere else, you MUST come to San Diego. How many other cities have the beach, the mountains, the desert, the world-famous Zoo, Shamu, AND a perfect climate?!

DO IT NOW!
As my birthday approaches I am once again smacked in the face with the fact that today, now, is all we have. If you have been thinking of taking that special trip – to visit an elderly relative, to see your favorite “wonder of the world’, to bond with a grandchild – DO IT NOW. Sharing an experience together goes a lot farther than sending a gift or a note – or an email…

TSUNAMI TIME IN CALIFORNIA
So, so glad that the tsunami waves produced by the terrible earthquake in Chile were not the huge ones they could have been! Clients called me from their NCL cruise of the Hawaiian Islands, which had to wait off-shore for a few hours before they could dock in Honolulu. They were concerned, but luckily their flight home was a red-eye so they didn’t have to miss it. I spoke to others on the ship via my clients cell phone. They were asking all kinds of questions about hotel rooms, flight protectection, etc. It was good to be able to give them some advice during a stressful time!

WINTER WONDERLAND
February in California is fine, thank you! If it’s not warm enough here for you (70 degrees in San Diego today) let me send you to a warmer climate. How about a Caribbean cruise?
